After the CICA Summits, the CICA Ministers of Foreign Affairs Meetings constitute the most important forum. Until today 3 Ministers of Foreign Affairs Meetings were held in 1999, 2004 and 2008 in Almaty.
According to CICA Rules of Procedure, Senior Officials Committee (SOC) meets as often as necessary, but not less than at least once a year to follow-up on previous CICA decisions, carry out consultations on the current CICA issues, oversee the work of Special Working Groups (SWG) and co-ordinate the work of other meetings such as the Summit and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs Meeting. SWG studies specific issues relevant to CICA's area of interest, carries out the tasks mandated to it and submits reports to the SOC. Usually SWG and SOC's are organized back to back and the decisions taken in SWG are presented to SOC for approval.
During the Turkish Chairmanship 10 SWG and SOC Meetings (the list can be accessed under the “SWG/SOC” section), 1 CICA Workshop on International Organization of Migration (Antalya), 6 CICA Economic Sub-Group Meeting, 1 Experts Meeting on SMEs (Istanbul), 2 CICA Business Forum and SMEs Networking Meetings (Bangkok and Istanbul) as well as 1 Informal Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs on the margins of UN 66th General Assembly (Septenber 2011), were held to this date.
